Good morning ladies..

It's VERY hot here today and there's no way I can be working out in the garden so it seemed a good opportunity to catch up with friends on the B.B.   The year is well underway, but not too far gone to wish you all the best for the coming months.  Each year seems to be more challenging than the last ,once you are over a certain age...Time for broad shoulders !

All is well in our corner of the world.  The grand-daughter returned safely from her time in the U.K. (6 wks)  She had a great time but came home appreciative of the fact that she was born and brought up in NZ.!?!  I am going up to Auckland for a few days next week to hear all the details of her trip.  She spent Christmas and New Year with family in Scotland , four cousins all around her age, I need to hear more about that !   She missed her boy friend of six years while she was away, and since her return they have decided to go flatting together this year... I need to check that out too !

No movement on the property.  The contract with the agent will be up in Feb. and we may take it off the market then. Neither of us are keen to move and,as we appear to be in reasonable health ,there really is no urgency to get off the place..

The weather here is crazy.  On Monday we nearly lit the fire , it was so cold and wet, Today it must be around thirty already and it's not even mid-day.   A most unsettled summer so far..

All the best ,
Marion.

This is the t-shirt pillow I made following Laura's advise.   My friend, Angie is pleased with the result.  I must say that I have a great appreciation, now, for anyone who makes a whole quilt from t-shirts.  It is a time consuming process and for me nerve racking.  Not a project you can do in a rush.  One thing I know for sure, I will not be making a quilt from t-shirts.  Laura, your instructions were so helpful.  Without that I would still be struggling.  Thank You.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday.  Sunny but windy and about 40 here in No. Fla.
My GF and I signed up for the yearly 15K again, it is March 12th.  So being a slob over Thanksgiving and Christmas I've been walking and working out for 2 weeks now.  It is harder in the chilly wind.
Did 30 min. on a machine in the gym and then came and got doggies and went for a 2 mile walk, mostly on the beach.  After the 1 mi. mark turned around to come back but the wind was coming from the north, and we went up to the sidewalk.  Burr, I don't like cold wind.
I'm trying to make an appt. with a nutritionist here in town, a friend of a friend.  Being serious about cutting out salt/sugar and other things that cause inflamation.  Fingers, wrists, and ankles are painful and swelling.  The family Dr. just said it's part of aging, take Tylenol.  He'll check with me in 3 months, as it is worse in the winter.
Humm, well if one quilts you need your fingers and wrists!
Feel free to give me free advice quilty friends.  A lot of folks say cut out milk and dairy, but since I have Celiac,  yogurt has become a staple for protein for me.
Starting on a beachy quilt.  It is supposed to be sand pails, lots of them, maybe 60-70 12" and 10" squares.
Slowly.
All for now.  Let us know how that T shirt pillow is coming.
