Happy New Year

Watching the Pasadena Rose Bowl parade on TV here.  The GA Bulldogs are playing in the local Gator Bowl, but it is not on TV.
I'm also glad to see all the posts and pictures.
Our Christmas ws fun, hectic, and the decorations are mostly still up.  The ear infection, cold, etc between Thanksgiving and Christmas kept me down for the count for a while, but better now.  Went to Jo-Ann's yesterday for the sale.  Will start a new project soon.  Decided to use up some of my beach fabric, doing sandpails on a sand colored background.  Will use about 5 different sands, and about 10-12ndifferent beach prints.  Hopefully I can post a few here in the coming months.
DD and SIL will be back Tomorrow evening and extended family Sunday evening for the memorial service for Mom on Monday.
Hope we are all happy and healthy in 2016.   No moew shingles!  DD had it, I had the vacine 6 years ago, but don't think I can have another one after this wears off, as I had radiation treatment.  Of course in 4 or 5 years, they could come up with another "miracle cure" for that stuff.
Take care.

Grandchildren posing on the quilt I made for DS#2 and his fiancee (present for wedding which hasn't happened yet so changed to a Christmas pressie)

Aussie Christmas

Marion, lucky you, being somewhere where it was lovely enough weather to go out in the boat for the day!  Our Christmas Day was so hot that G couldn't even heat up the gas BBQ because of the total fire ban, so ate his prawns on Boxing Day instead, cooked in the frypan on the stove.

Two of our sons and partners are overseas right now. Shannon is settled into 'gatehouse' accommodation close by the uni where he has a post-grad science position; his wife flew over on Christmas Eve to spend 3 weeks with him. DS#1 and his gf flew to San Francisco, also on Christmas Eve, to spend 4 weeks with her brother. DS#2 was able to fly the 1500 home from the mine on the NT/Qld border, also on Christmas Eve, and came straight to our place with his family for our Christmas meal.

I am still suffering post-shingles with pain and very annoying tingles - 4 months is long enough, thank you so much! Graham has been having problems with his hip for a few months and is actually looking forward to 8th January, when he is booked in for a hip replacement.  Our house is tidy and liveable but there is a shed full of boxes which still need to be unpacked after our move. I am looking forward to being able to get back to quilting sometime in the not too distant future!

Wishing everyone all the very best for 2016,
Fran in Sth Aust.
