Saturday evening at the beach

Just watched one wedding on the beach, and another one is starting a little further down. Quite the fun watching everything. I went to sit and sew on Friday, and remembered to push my "trip" thing in on the odomotor, only 2 and 1/2 miles from here. Lots of talking and fun. I'm working on the binding for a summer wall hanging. Had a single girlfriend out yesterday evening, and the 3 of us biked up and down and then had wine and tacos on the balcony and sat and talked. Over the Memorial Day weekend the water was very rough, the rip tide warnings were posted, and two people drown in the areas nearby. Quite a hazard. One 11 year old boy was swept out to sea, and has not been seen. I've been walking the dogs on the beach about 7:30 or 8:00 a few times a week. They and I need the exercise. Getting more used to living here. Making plans to take the carpet out of the bedroom and put some type of wood down, to keep down the alergies. Also going to have some window treatments done. Something to keep out the hot morning sun, but can be raised after 12 noon, when the sun goes behind the building. Getting ready for 1 grandson to come visit. He will switch between us and the other grandparents for a month. Have no idea what he will do, but he is still doing some home schooling on the computer. Maybe her can give me come computer lessons! Rain . . .

Checking in with y'all..... we have had quite a bit of rain over the past week, but nothing like that Texas and Arkansas have received.    This morning, when I took the dog out, the air smelled moldy.   Eeeew.  The grass has grown six inches in the past week (I am not joking) and hopefully it will not be too wet for the mowing crew to cut it.

I've finished a couple of maxi skirts for myself this past month, no quilts - but I still go to quilt guild, so hopefully I can still participate here.   LOL

Rosey P - thanks for posting about the latest Louise Penny book.   Our local library did not have a single one in Kindle format a year ago.   After reading your post below, I checked and they now have several of her books in Kindle format.  Hooray!   I never used the library before I bought a Kindle.   It's so easy now, I just check the books out online and download via our WiFi.   I never have to get in the car, tangle with the worsening traffic and increasing number of stop lights, and I don't have to drive back to return the book.   I never thought I would ever buy a Kindle, but after I did, I've read more books than I have in the previous ten or fifteen years.

Nothing else new here of any interest.   Summer has arrived, golf season has begun, and we need to do major replacement of wood on our back deck.   Ugh . . .

Hugs to everyone!

Finally !

got this site to accept my password and email....had some issues with the computer skills on here lately and ended up resetting and wiping a couple of times.....

Rosey got your message via my sons office.....would have been great to take in that cornflower display and see you !....but life here continues on with kids, grandkids and now a summer camp wedding for our son Jamey to his longtime partner Janice.....that it was going to be simple but seems to be not so simple after all...just finished a quilt she will receive at her shower and am working on a wool apllique wall hanging for the wedding gift.

Grandson Adason is 7years and is so much like his father Adam when young ...his brother Brody is 6 and a little more introvert than Adason...then there is Clark who will soon be two years and in constant motion.....then our youngest son Scotty has two boys Oliver who will be 3 in August and always a going concern full of mischief and fun...his older brother Preston just turned 5 is the one who tugs a wee bit harder in our hearts if that's possible...he is diagnosed with 'mild' autism and since January is in what is called an IBI program 4 days a week and reg SK one day a week...he is not very verbal but has made great progress with that and social/listening skills thru the IBI programme....he has a beautiful smile and my heart just breaks when he tells us 'love u too"......sometimes it's difficult since son and the mom are no longer together but fortunately both of them are placing skids best interests over theirs...they share custody with 4 days one week and 3 the other....and the son's new significant other is terrific with them and has a 7 year old boy too....  And add in James two step children at 11-14 years and we are always on the go it seems

Did manage to make two good size wall hangings for Preston's IBI classroom and the shower gift quilt.....not much else lateLy tho lol

Well we will see if this posts and hope to get back another time soon
