It's hard to follow the donkey--

But I'll try.  Olympics--watching  lots, but our Comcast TV service went out last night when the gymnastics was due to come on.  Just as well, I'd been staying up way too late for several days.
Good news!  Went with DH to the Prostate cancer follow up - 2 yrs--his numbers are still low and he is doing well.  BP good too.  We usually are thee at least an hour, were in and out in less than 45 min.   DH will have to go back every 6 months for several more years, but for 2 years now he has done well.
More good news.  Have a signed offer on my Mom's house.  Hope to have closing in 30 days or so.  Total price is $102,000. which is very good for the condition it is in.  Little house, but nice big lot with lots of pretty plants.  No Homeowner's assoc. fees.  We had two cash offers also, but they were very low.
Working on getting all her "stuff" still, but not obsessing over it.
No quilting here lately, just general household things.

Quilters are visual people

And so, when I saw Jon Katz's photo of his donkey, Lulu, I thought, when looking at it this evening that I felt exactly as Lulu looks...I ate too much at suppertime and my tummy is hanging over my hysterical-ectomy scar like a rubber band holding in a balloon in the middle. And the spider web, Jon took earlier this week and it fascinated me with it's irredescent and intricate designwork. Leave it to spiders to create nature's beautiful images. I don't like walking into them, though.

Annie-No-No

Almonds:
Dogs love the taste of almonds, particularly the flavored variety (jalapeno, barbecued, smoked, vanilla, cinnamon, etc.).
While not toxic, almonds are not easily digested can give your dog an upset stomach and create gastric intestinal distress.

Aug. 1st., monthly shopping, slivered almonds she didn't get but the flaked almonds she did...She is a counter cruiser. I had a pan waiting to go into the toaster oven to be toasted. Shoot...and here is what dogs shouldn't eat. She snakes her head around and has a far reach on the counter. Now I'm on poop-patrol.

You're right, Doris...Annie No-No.

Portland, OR

JILL in PORTLAND -    Safe to assume Portland, OR?     I saw the most hysterical clip on YouTube from the TV show Portlandia  "Is it Local?"     LOL   I think I'll try to watch the next season on TV.   Our son and DIL are planning a trip to Portland and Seattle and I sent it to him.

ROSEY P -  what lovely pics of you and Miss Annie-NO! a/k/a Miss Bossy Boots.    LOL   WHAT would we do without dogs in our lives?

I scrubbed baseboards last week, and it has become painfully evident to me that I am too old to be doing this anymore.    My massage therapist un-kinked some painful muscles, and now I'm in the fall-out pain phase of that treatment.   Ugh.....   But seriously,   if you want it done and done correctly . . .   Nobody else would be willing to use a toothbrush to scrub those things.   (they do look lovely, bright and white again.  LOL) Too bad baseboards are so low to the ground... er ... floor and I'm getting too old with my bad back, etc.

OLYMPICS - has the synchronized diving always been an Olympics category?    I am amazed, impressed and completely addicted to watching this competition.   I had to tear myself away from the TV while watching the equestrian dressage competition.   I wanted to cry every time a horse fell during the cross country phase.   Such beautiful horses and awesome riders.

Hmmmmmmmm This is different must be another new setting. The cloak is a Maori feather cloak and it is a real honour to wear one. They used to be made from Kiwi feathers but now are something else as the kiwi is now protected and is our national symbol along with the silver fern. This one is special to the games so could be an old one. I will look up the name of it and post later. Loving the games, of course with our upside down hours I am up either very late or very early. Hugs for now, Bee, in cold NZ.

more & more difficult to post

It has been less than a week since I last posted, but things have changed again.
Was trying to make a comment, but it wouldn't post.
Thanks Jill and Kathi is what I was going to say.  I had not thought of an Oregon wine tour, even though our favorite wines are Columbia Valley Rieslings.  DH is interested in the drive down the coast--that 17 mile drive that is supposed to be so lovely.  Maybe we could do some of each.  When I get a spare min. I'll go to the AAA travel people and ask them.  Their web site is not user friendly (IMHO) and have had more success in person.
We have 95 plus weather in the last few days, with 95% humidity.  Makes you feel like walking in a sponge.  When I go outside my glasses fog up.  Very good for A/C business.  Had to hire another tech.
Have we all been watching the Olympics?   I want to know what the N.Z. person carrying the flag was wearing.  It must have been some national costume, looked like it had feathers on it.  The TV shot was only 10 sec. or so, was interesting.   We have a friend who's son is on a swim team, so we are all watching the men's swimming with interest.  They home school, and the boy swims with a coach almost every day, summer and all year round.  We are talking about the 2016 Olympics for him.
Really want to go to church this morning, have missed so many Sundays.  Got to run and shower.
