This from Jon Katz/s blog www.bedlamfarm.com today.
My legs never see the light of day, Marion, at my age now...but underneath tights, they cut a mean figure at that, Rosey
I love the colour and I also like Jon Katz's blog . I think I will buy the donkey book from him . I love donkeys and a friend of ours purchased a lifestyle block of land found the grazing was let to some donkeys, he hated donkeys and got rid of them and relet the land ,guess what arrived !!!!! Not the same ones but I think somewhere someone was laughing
Bee, I think I'll also buy Jon Katz's book about Simon the donkey as well. I find his philosophy along with his writing speaks to me, too. I love donkeys, wish we had some here but at our age Himself couldn't deal with them. When we moved in here twenty-seven or so years ago I had ordered a dozen baby chicks. A farmer raised them for me to 4 mos. of age until we got moved in here and built the hen house (same farmer, one armed carpenter, the other holding a can of beer the whole time)...it's a wonder the shed ever got built...and Himself said "If you bring chickens in here, I'm moving out". I kept the chickens. He's still here. This week I've gotten into his mess in the garage. Hasn't spoken to me in four days...(you wonder at all that negative energy going around inside him). Rosey
one of the very good quilters who wrote a blog on the subject said when told the same by her other half" I will miss him" It became my mantra for years
Bee, a slight warming up of temperatures here in the household, I don't think himself thought I'd have the nerve to move his 'stuff'. He can't pass a dumpster or someone's garbage by and it all ends up in here. Well, we're getting to an age where being a junk collector is not good. I've survived the week with a mental image of a very large firecracker inserted in a delicate bodily spot and lighting it....have to keep myself amused somehow.... I'm going to call Battenkill books today and order Simon's book. Oh, and Sue from Iowa emailed me, thanks, Mary, and I'm happy to post for anyone who can't get onto the board, send it through me, I don't mind at all...now, needing my email address....farmerswalkbandbatsympatico.ca and change the 'at' to @ in the email address. Rosey - I love that photo of the flowers! The color is exquisite. Thank you for sharing this.
