Miss Lily
Forgive me for posting another photo but my friend Susan from California sent this through several days ago, which she'd taken of their cat, Miss Lily, whom she caught in the middle of a yawn. It's a fun picture...Lovely sunny day here in Southern Ontario, Canada heading into a week of rain. Must do some pulling of the plants from the gardens today, as the hostas, once wet and hit by frost, disintegrate into big slimy leaves lying flat on the ground. Love the hosta plants but cutting them back in the fall is a chore.

Great photo Rosey ! Thank you for brightening up the page.. We seem to take more photos on the Ipad these days and I'm not sure how to locate them to forward or "post". Too lazy to put my mind to it really !!
My Hostas are just coming through again and looking very impressive ! Hooray for the seasons..
I have just put Miss Lily as my wallpaper. I change my wallpaper a lot and have quite a collection of pets I use.
Miss Lily lives outside of Morro Bay near the coast of California in the canyons surrounding the countryside, on a very large ranch. My friend Susan, whom I met through the chicken chat line just as the quilt chat board, many years ago, became a friend, flew up to spend a week here with us, we fell together like a pack of thieves and have been corresponding ever since. Lily came to Susan and her husband more recently, after they lost their old cat, brought to them by 'cowboy Pat' whose herd of cows live and move from place to place on the ranch. Lily came to live with a beautiful Australian Shepherd by the name of Hamal. She has managed to tame Hamal quite nicely, discouraging him chasing her, sitting close to him but always ready to leap away, cats have that innate sense of how far to go with dogs and Lily pushes Hamal to the edge...she sleeps up in the rafters of the carport beside the house and Susan caught her up there yawning at just the perfect moment and angle. She will be thrilled to hear that Miss Lily is going to be your wallpaper, Bee. The picture just brings a smile to your face, doesn't it.

I just love the way a cat will just go so far with the dog. Ellie always comes to see Gus befoe me and smooches around him,but if he goes too far in return ...splat and his nose gets pulled back so fast it is a blur. When it is cold Ellie lies right next to the dog but he daren't move her away. She is definately the boss. I always think of the comment dogs have owners but cats have slaves.
What an adorable picture!
