sending love to our broken ones
and hoping you all start feeling much better. Jane and Jean you both have had a bad time, hopefully next year will be better. If you remember we cancelled our festivities this year as our Mary was terminal and we didn't think she would make it and she didn't , her funeral was on Christmas Eve, we were really all thankful as her last few weeks were horrible. She was an artist and had taught art all her life . During the last few years she used our local Marae to try to bring pakeha(us) and the local maori together with art and was very successful. The Marae asked if they could take the funeral service for her and it was wonderful. The feeling of Aroha(love) you had to be there. and the singing!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder Mary wanted to be with our Maori people. We all came away from the chapel feeling so peaceful . The following day we just had morning tea at our DD's as we wanted to watch an 8 months first Christmas and did she enjoy it. Wrapping paper everywhere and one very happy kid. We all had our cameras and the poor wee thing had cameras going off everywhere but what a memory for her.Only thing is she has learnt to squeal and is she loud, our ears were ringing. Not much else happening now, must get the garden in order and carry on with Janna's quilt, a large hexagon, on black, with NZ fabrics in the centre. All by hand and so enjoyable. Keep warm my friends and hope the economy will get better soon. Bee in a warm and sunny NZ.
