We will all (my entire family, including my 88 year old mother, who has never voted for a Republican in her life) be voting for the McCain/Palin ticket. Sen. Obama's associations, his extreme liberal views, and his tax increases scare us to death. All those taxes on business will cause prices to shoot up on everything, since businesses pass those costs on to their customers and we end up paying them.

Please, tell me, of which Obama associations you are referring.

I am not a small business owner nor do I have income over $250,000 - as is the case with many middle class Americans, but I always figured they could write off taxes as part of their cost of doing business. In Iowa we have state income tax. We deduct that from our total federal income - I figure it has to do with double taxation. We also deduct the federal tax from our reported state income.

The tax Obama proposes is on the top 5% of earners in the US and as we all know they use the loopholes to get that tax as low as possible. How do you think the fact that Sarah Palin raised taxes on the oil companies in Alaska 4 times affected the price of oil?

What about the way prices have already shot up due to the cost of gas? Do you see any connections between Bush/Cheney/ Halliburton and all the money they have made on the war and the oil price increases?

IMHO opinion the real issue for our country is the massive amount of personal debt and personal bankruptcies that will get us in the end. I think if credit card companies did lower the average citizens allowable credit limit it would be good for the citizens.

My 30 year old son in law just purchased a small vet clinic and he is eager to cast a ballot for the democratic ticket. By the way he and DD got 4 credit applications in the mail in one day this week at same time the media is talking about all the credit tightening. I think we need to be very afraid of 4 more years of this type of government and their fixes.

May I suggest you do your own research as to the views of both candidates rather than listening to the pundits. Try factcheck.org - it covers both sides.

I have "liberal" views as defined by most republicans, but care about all people, as my Christian upbringing has encourage me to do. My ancestors arrived on the Mayflower looking for freedom from this kind of tyranny.

Please email me because I do not regularly have access the comment sections.

P.S. We are hoping to get my 90 year-old mother-in-law to vote democratic for the first time in her life - as our children have encouraged us to do! The future is about them after all.
