A hot day here .

Thirty degrees, which is hot for us.  Fortunately we can irrigate the house lawn to keep it green. The lawn on the drive is the colour of cardboard !
I'm sitting in the shade listening to the Seekers Golden Jubilee Album.  I've always been a fan and this came out just before Christmas.  They were/are an Australian group, very popular in this part of the world.  They toured NZ recently.  Nice to have the disc, easier and cheaper than going to the concert !

Marion- this is a beautiful picture. Are those roses in the front?? The pink flowers? Your yard is wonderful.
It is foggy, about 50 here in North Fla.

Sara...sorry to hear about the football ! We know how that can affect the mood of the house...
Yes, that is a rose, a little bush rose called Fairy.
I was interested to see that you called the lawn and garden a yard...Here the word would indicate a hard surfaced area where the rubbish bins are kept !

Interesting, I always think of a yard as something being fenced in. We use the word lawn for our grass, garden for the flower beds, generally speaking but not always. I'm never sure what to call our back field...it's cut, it is lawn but it's really reclaimed field grass which has been cut over and over and over again...and over again...!!!!
