September 11th

Has it really been 13 years since the twin towers and the other terrible attacks on the USA?  I remember it was a Tuesday AM.  I had turned on Alex Anderson on the quilt show, (which was unusual, since I don't watch TV in the morning).  Turned over to the news and saw the twin towers and the planes hit them.  I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing.
This world is a fallen place.  It is good to bring comfort with a quilt, a meal, a kind word, etc.  On this note I'll leave this sad subject.
Going to shower, visit my Mom, and work on a polar fleece jackets for the little dogs.

I also turned the TV on to see the news and thought it was a promo for a new disaster movie then realised it was the most horrible reality. It will remain etched on our minds forever.

I was surprised to hear that it was thirteen years, too Sara. The world changed forever that day.

It seems only yesterday, Sara, thanks for bringing this to our attention. The image of the plane flying into the tower is one I'll never forget. Unbelievable tragedy.
Have you connected at all with Jane?

No, actually I forgot! Was so busy for 2 days looking for something to rent on VRBO. We finally decided on where, which was the biggest problem. Renting a house/cabin just outside Boone N.C. for 5 days. Before that we will spend 2 nights in Waynesville, N.C. There is an apple festival there on the 18th of Oct. I miss the fall in the mountains. (No. Carolina Mts.) not to high, like in Colorado, so we don't get nose bleeds. Love the change of colors and the cool, crisp air. So tired of running the AC.

Sara, we've been through Boone, NC, stayed a night or two in Black Mountain, NC. We met up with another quilter and her husband from the old chat board and himself went flying over the mountains with her husband, it was a grand flight. The mountains are beautiful around there and the Blue Ridge Pkwy, spectacular. Pretty part of the USA. Florida is nice in the winter months but I couldn't manage down there in the summertime...I'm a cold weather person, love our winters up here, loved going to Florida as I did years ago...there is a time for everything I guess and since a hystericalectomy, my body's temperature changed and I manage better in the cold rather than the heat...
Hope you connect with Jane though she's some distance I think from Boone.
