I had a classmate in law school who made her own dog biscuits from left over veggies and meat. Don't remember whether there was any grain in it. If I can track her down through the FL Bar I'll try to contact her. This is said with good intentions but not complete confidence that I'll remember to follow through. Nudge me in a week if I haven't posted an answer for you. This woman had a number of Shetland sheepdogs which she bred at the right time to raise tuition money. I know she put powdered milk and veggies in the pregnant and lactating bitches' food so she was very conscious of good nutrition for her furries. By the way, she also had them conditioned to loving the vacuum cleaner and that was her chief grooming tool. I used to do that with Molly.
