Update on DH
The good news is that we will be able to go on vacation! There is some bulging of disc material between two of the C-5 & C-6 which can be treated with the ice and physical therapy. There is no nerve damage to the spinal cord.
The Dr. did advise no bicycle but don't think DH will go for it. So we are leaving the 2 dogs, but taking the bicycles and the hiking boots. (went out last week and bought them).
Never having driven across the U.S. before, there are still things to work out, most importantly the route. Think we will go by Memphis, TN to see Graceland, then Oklahoma, Alburqueque, then on to
the Grand Canyon.

I'm no doctor but I think just getting rid of some of the stress of work, rest, and ice will all be good for the back pain. My DH has been experiencing that which continues on down the leg to the toes for 18 months and gone all the way to the surgery, which offered no more relief than all the other treatments. The only thing he has yet to try is acupuncture. However, recent full retirement has, in my opinion, helped his back and his personality. I highly recommend it.
Yes, I agree. I didn;t finish my post as teen girls were at the front door on a scavenger hunt. Dogs barking their fool heads off.
We will then go to Zion Nat. park and hike the "narrows" weather permitting, then on to Silverthorn, Colorado to join DH's good friends. On way home we will drive by way of Omaha, Neb. so friend can get a good steak. (!)
At the hot as He-- beach for the weekend.
Retirement will be good for husband, I need to stop being anxious about every little thing, and enjoy life.
