American Thanksgiving celebrations

We (two college age grandsons) are driving north about 6 hours for a family T. Day.  Will be heading through the mountains and lots of snow.  Am glad to have the company on the trip.

I'm bringing non gluten stuffing.  Am trying a new recipe with wild rice and sausage as last year's lacked taste.  Non g items often are disappointing.  Also am making cranberry sauce, spinach spread and a chocolate caramel tart.  The boys will help with the veggie tray which will look like a turkey.  Volunteered to bring dinner that night as d in law will work all day.  She will have lots of other things to do with a dozen guests coming.

Weather is holding below freezing.  Highs of the past few days are in the low 20s.  Lows hover around zero.  Our roads are icy and very dangerous.  Am staying in as much as possible.  Grandson Max was hit by a semi on the first night of the storm.  He was not harmed but the Toyota is a total loss.  No citations, just weather.  We are counting our blessings that he's ok.

Thankful the the grandson is alive to tell about it! I don't envy anyone driving in the ice & snow. We had a record low temp of 27 in North Fla. (for November) now it's been about 70 today, with rain now and for the next 3 days predicted.
Be careful out there!
