more pics

I snapped this pic in front of a souvenier shop in San Gimignano.  The dogs are stuffed "plush" toys but they looked so real that I had to capture the moment.   The CKCS looks a lot like our Sophie.    ;-)

Below, we have a snap of one of the food shops.   Wild boar is a popular meat in the San Gimignano area, as they roam, well, wild.   Using a stuffed boar was a clever and eye-catching way to advertise the wares in this shop.

. Thanks so much for posting the photos,Doris. They are very realistic. Did the "dogs" make you homesick for Sophie ?!?

I always enjoy the speciality shops when I am overseas. They can tell you a lot about the area you are travelling through ! IN the case of the wild boars...maybe more than you wanted to know!

Doris, I'm loving your pictures and it will save me the expense of a trip to Italy where I'm told I'd never survive the gas fumes, anyway...but who knows...it's a trip on my mind for a sometime in my life if I live long enough.

Marion, inquiring minds might ask...eight hours on your feet...preserves? preparing a feast for friends? doing spring cleaning? given that you're down under and I'm up over...

Just "multi-tasking" Rosey ! Something we all do so well !?! Cooked some chickens for a dish for friends coming tomorrow, prepared the dish, then had to make stock from the carcasses, then decided to make a quiche for the freezer, having been given some lovely free range eggs,in the midst of all this, prepared a lunch for the husband (rather than have him under my feet, preparing his own...) and dinner for us both, THEN cleared up (UG) and washed the floor.... Just "a normal day at the office" for some, but not for me !

Have a good w/end.
Marion.

Marion, you definitely need to take some time to rest. What a busy day you've had!

I agree, Marion, not having a husband cooking underfoot is a good thing. Tonight, hiimself came home from the glider club later than usual, so I waited to get his supper and prepared my chicken salad, was about to sit down, lo and behold, whose car comes down the laneway...but himself...always, when I'm about to eat my own supper...so it was saugages and eggs, fried onions, fried tomatoes and toast for him. I cooked everything and sat down while he did the toast. I had the sausages out on a plate, told him to put the plate in the microwave for a minute or so to heat them back up, he did, didn't turn it on, asked him if he'd like to heat his sausages or eat them cold, got a dirty look, he did his toast, put the toast on a big supper plate which he was going to use, forgetting he already had one in the microwave, I watched as he stumbled and bumbled around the kitchen while I sat at the island finishing up my salad which I'd jumped up and down from all during the eating of it to cook his supper. And you think I've had a peaceful supper??? lol. I don't think so.
The new system here: Sometimes it asks you to type in a bunch of letters, so you do that, then it asks you to type in your password, so you do that, then it clinks off into some advertising asking if you'd like to join a whatever and I click on the back button and loose everything I did before. So I start again and this time, those little words don't come up and I'm not asked for my password and then I post my message. Clear as mud? Try ignoring it, do what it asks, then go back when you loose it all and start over again. It usually works the second time round.

Actually , it's a lot easier to post a comment than to do a new post ! The little square is already there to type the message into, then press Publish . Sometimes I am asked to type the bunch of letters too, but not often./ There seems to be no "rhyme or reason" (as my mother would say !)
Sorry about your interrupted supper Rosey ! Loved the bit about the DH putting the sausages in the microwave but not switching it on ! Classic !!!

Marion (enjoying a day in double temperatures for a change..)

Double number temperatures is ofcourse, what I meant... IT's 16deg C today, we've been in single number temperatures in recent weeks.
