Oh the holidays
Jill in Portland - your dog looks worn out from the Christmas holiday festivities. :-)Our little Sophie had a big time on Christmas morning. She got a bully stick in her stocking, which was consumed in half an hour. Then, watching all the gift opening and her humans laughing our heads off for a couple of hours, she gave up. It was all too much for a little dog to bear.
Here are photos that capture her in a comatose state. It was her best defense. ;-)

How can yo not love a dog like Sophie, Doris...what a great pair of pictures...she knew how to handle all that noise and confusion...sleep through it taking the best seat in the house, looks like, too.
Forgot to ask in my response below...what brand 60/2 cotton thread do you use for applique?
Rosey
Cute! Our 2 don't know what all the noise and confusion is about.

Rosey - I use the Mettler 60/2 cotton machine embroidery thread for appliqué. When I need a certain color, I also use it for quilt piecing (same thread in bobbin of course). It really is quite strong. The heirloom children's clothing sewing crowd all use it for garment construction.
Sara in Florida - our dogs figure out the stockings after a couple of years, that something yummy for them is in one.
When Alex (our shih tzu) was alive, he would sit under the stocking and stare at it, as soon as it was hung and not even stuffed.
Sophie was quite attentive to everyone's stocking on Xmas morning, this week, and had her nose in DDIL's stocking as she was empting it out. It was too funny. We had to give Sophie the contents of hers next, so that she would not be pestering each of us as we unloaded ours. What a happy little camper!
