Y2K
So now it's 12 years! How did that happen?My squares are yours Laura, I found them.
I'd say they are about half and half, 2.5 and 3inch.
(I started to cut them down)
I remember when I did the swap I mailed them
to the organizer and then she fell off the face
of the earth for about half a year. Out of the blue someone
contacted us & said that that person had gotten really
sick & the swap was back on.
Somehow I just never could come up with an idea.
So there they sit.

Thanks so much for helping me out! If you don't have them all mixed up, keep the 2.5 inch squares. I have enough in that size to make another quilt:) If they're mixed, then I may make another quilt, with more squares!
What can I send you?
I made two of the quilts with 2-1/2" squares. Some people did send 3" ones, but I've moved twice since then. How fun to see someone getting the old squares together!
One of my quilts went to Houston for the Y2K exhibit. The other one is my "summertime" quilt on our bed.

Glad you finished yours Kathi. I'm a scrappy gal so you would have thought I would do mine but I just became paralyzed with indecision.
Just couldn't figure out what to do with them.
Maybe since guild is tomorrow night I'll put the 2.5 on the free table as long as I have them out.
We are headed to the cabin this morning, but I'll get mine out and take pictures when we get back on Monday or Tuesday. I have pix, but they are year 2000 ones... you know, those things that came from film????

I came on to the WWQP late in 1999, and missed the chance to be in the Y2K swap. I always regretted that, especially after I saw some of the pictures of the finished quilts. I wonder how many of hte squares are still sitting in boxes and drawers now, all these years later?

Not guilty Jean ! I was so thrilled to be receiving mail from quilters, all over the world, that I put the quilt together fairly quickly. It's on my wall, collecting dust. I reduced the size of the squares which left me with a pile of left over bits. Recently, I have added these to a "bits and pieces" quilt. It was very satisfying !
