I don't know if this will publish.  I could not go into adding an image the regular way.  This is the contrast between winter and summer here in Southern Ontario, Canada.  I'm never sure which I prefer; both are beautiful.  The lack of sun here in December & January make these two months challenging but by the end of January the sun starts to come out more and there is nothing nicer than seeing the sun sparkling on tree branches coated with ice and snow.  Today, the wind is very high, whistling around the house and through eavestroughs that sing like an eerie opera singer.  Now to see if this posts.

Beautiful photos Rosey. Those of us who experience changes with the seasons are fortunate. I would find two months with little sun, very difficult, but the winter scene is magical !
Very hot and windy here, you can imagine what that is doing to the garden...

Marion, you're right about the lack of sun. We 'grin & bear it'. The end of November generally brings this weather into focus and it's a grind for the next two months. But when the sun comes back in February, it's so welcome even though we will still have another two months of winter after that.

I have friends who are leaving for NZ Jan. 28th. Any chance of you posting your weather the week of?

Rosey, I can only hope that the weather improves before your friends get here. We have had heavy rain, very strong winds and just about everything in between, this last week. The hot dry winds have broken branches and damaged plants here, but, over on the West Coast they have had flooding and bridges washed out, stranding locals and tourists alike!!. Hopefully the weather will settle down again before the end of the month !! (we'd love to meet your friends, if they are going to be near here..)
