There are a number of reports of them around the Twin Cities with one of them sitting on a freeway light today. Cold here also with -28 Mon. morning. Cold weather equals reading and quilting at my house.
Stay warm......Phyllis in Minnesotahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16322966097298166981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908232368106516157.post-24392837277653295182014-01-08T19:27:21.347-05:002014-01-08T19:27:21.347-05:00It's interesting that two of the responses are...It's interesting that two of the responses are from down under where temperatures never reach anything such as ours here but for the mountainous regions of both countries, I'm assuming. But Heather, well now, our temperatures never compare with the extremes she gets many hours north of Toronto, which we are an hour north of. And Fran, that young man didn't look old enough to be a father, but then, I guess I'm getting older and parents getting younger.
In Doris's post she mentions Sophie taking her time doing her business outside. Try weather so cold the dog's paws freeze up in seconds when they go out but then I have Meg, a year and a half, picking up bunny pooh on top of the snow and me yelling: leave it, leave it...I sound like a harridan. Bunnies live beneath our porches in winter and perhaps summer, patrol at night and early morning.
It is still cold though expecting to warm up to 36F on Sat. and guess what: rain is forecast. Picture four feet of snow with rain on top of it...mush, then temperatures dip down below freezing, ice. Talking about the weather becomes a national pastime for Canadians in winter.
RoseyRoseyPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10277785707806473280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908232368106516157.post-58239776547394151392014-01-08T16:51:12.446-05:002014-01-08T16:51:12.446-05:00Oh my! Rosey, thought you and hubby might like to know that Adam, Graham's nephew who drove us to visit you that day, has just become the father of a little girl in Toronto. Haven't heard how they got to the hospital in that weather yet. Good to know that you do at least have the power on, and that you have plenty of fire wood for the stoves. Hard for us to imagine such temperatures. Keep warm and post when you can.
