Laura, I love that Urban Cabin pattern. I've made several of them already. The first was a yellow and grey for my son's new house (colors were his request). The second was a black/white/red with pandas for a grandson's birthday (he picked his fabrics). I also like the pattern for doing charity quilts because it works up so easily, as long as you remember to reverse the blocks for the alternating rows.

Love you colors Kathi. From the quilts you have posted you really seem to have a knack for color and maybe that grandson has inherited it too. I was trying to feature the finger paint fabric I bought in a bundle. Not real happy with the end result, but it seems to grow on me as I live with it.
ReplyDeleteI liked what yours turned out like, too, Laura. This is such a versatile pattern. The yellow and gray quilt used strips that were narrower than the pattern called for, but I just added more into the block. It's a great pattern to use a large print and then go with the flow on the other fabrics.
